The UKCA (UK Conformity Assessed) marking is the United Kingdom's product conformity marking for goods placed on the market in Great Britain (England, Scotland, and Wales).
It demonstrates that a product meets the relevant UK legislation for health, safety, and environmental protection. The UKCA marking applies to most products that previously required CE marking under EU law.
Under the post-Brexit product safety framework, the technical requirements and conformity assessment processes for UKCA marking currently align closely with those of the European CE marking system.
As an indefinite transitional arrangement, the UK Government continues to recognise CE-marked products for placement on the Great Britain market until further notice, giving businesses ongoing flexibility and certainty.
For Northern Ireland, products must continue to comply with EU Regulations and other applicable EU legislations. Where a UK-based Approved Body is involved in conformity assessment, products must bear the UKNI + CE marking to indicate compliance under the Northern Ireland Protocol.
Understanding both the UKCA and UKNI + CE requirements—and preparing for any future regulatory divergence—helps ensure continued market access, compliance, and competitiveness across the United Kingdom and the EU.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) refers to products designed to protect the wearer's safety. PPE plays a vital role in safeguarding users in high-risk workplaces, at home, or during leisure activities.
Since 1 January 2021, the UK Personal Protective Equipment Regulations (Regulation (EU) 2016/425 as brought into UK law and amended have been in force as part of the UK's independent legal framework.
As a UK Government–designated Approved Body (No. 1105), CCQS provides professional, efficient, and reliable Type-Examination conformity assessment and production monitoring FPC audit services for PPE products under the UK's regulatory system, helping manufacturers demonstrate compliance for access to both the Great Britain and Northern Ireland markets.

The UK Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 govern the placing of machinery on the market in Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales), requiring products to meet all essential health and safety requirements and bear the UKCA marking to demonstrate conformity.
For Northern Ireland, machinery continues to fall under the EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, transitioning in the future to the Regulation (EU) 2023/1230, which will become fully applicable in January 2027. Products assessed by a UK Approved Body must bear the CE + UKNI marking to indicate compliance within this framework.
As a UK Government–designated Approved Body (No. 1105), CCQS provides professional, independent conformity assessment services for machinery products under the UK's regulatory system, helping manufacturers demonstrate compliance for access to both the Great Britain and Northern Ireland markets.

Under the UK regime, the Construction Products Regulation (EU No. 305/2011) no longer applies automatically in Great Britain but its principles remain via UK-retained regulation. For placing construction products on the GB market, manufacturers must still provide a Declaration of Performance (DoP) based on a harmonised standard (hEN) or a UK Technical Assessment. The UKCA mark may be used when a UK-approved body has been engaged; alternatively, CE-marked products based on assessment by an EU-recognised Notified Body continue to be accepted in GB for the time being.
CCQS currently holds certification scope of Annex V - Product Certification Body (AVCP) System 1 + for fire-resistant cables under EN 50575:2014 +A1:2016 in the construction products category. We are accredited for the UKCA and CE + UKNI (for Northern Ireland) conformity assessment relevant to that scope and support market access for this product family.

In the United Kingdom, applicable electrical and electronic products placed on the market in Great Britain must comply with the Electromagnetic Compatibility Regulations 2016 and bear the UKCA marking.
For Northern Ireland, the same products must comply with EU Directive 2014/30/EU and bear the CE or CE + UKNI marking if a UK-based Approved Body is involved.
Manufacturers must ensure their equipment meets the applicable EMC standards conformity based on test results and a complete technical file.
As a UK Approved Body (No. 1105), CCQS provides independent conformity assessment when requested, and offers testing coordination and voluntary verification to demonstrate compliance with EMC requirements.
