CE Certification
Home >United Kingdom>Services>CE Certification

The CE mark is a mandatory conformity marking for products placed on the market in the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA). It indicates that a product meets all applicable EU regulatory requirements and relevant harmonized standards.

Whether manufactured within the EU or imported from outside, products must bear the CE marking before they can be freely circulated in the European market. Once affixed, the CE marking allows a product to move and be sold across all EU Member States without additional national approvals, ensuring the free movement of goods within the EU.

To obtain CE certification, manufacturers, exporters, or importers must have their products tested in accredited laboratories according to relevant EU harmonized standards. A Notified Body then assesses the test results and technical documentation to confirm compliance with applicable EU Regulations and Directives.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) refers to products designed to protect the wearer or user against health and safety risks. PPE plays a vital role in safeguarding users in hazardous environments, industrial operations, and even certain home or leisure activities.

As of 21 April 2018, the EU Regulation (EU) 2016/425 on Personal Protective Equipment is fully in force. All PPE placed on the EU market must comply with this Regulation and bear the CE mark.

CCQS, an EU Notified Body (No. 2834) is designated under the PPE Regulation to conduct EU Type-Examination (Module B) and FPC audits (Module D and C2). We provide efficient and professional CE certification services covering a wide range of PPE products.

Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)

The Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Directive 2014/30/EU requires that all electrical and electronic equipment marketed in the EU operate reliably in their electromagnetic environment without causing or suffering from unacceptable interference. Products must be tested and certified to relevant harmonized standards before being placed on the EU market.

As an EU Notified Body (No. 2834), CCQS provides independent conformity assessment when requested, and offers testing coordination and voluntary verification to demonstrate compliance with EMC requirements.

Low Voltage Equipment (LVD) CE Certification

The Low Voltage Directive (LVD) 2014/35/EU ensures that electrical equipment designed for use within certain voltage limits provides a high level of safety protection for users. It covers risks such as electric shock, overheating, and fire that may arise from electrical products used in homes, offices, and industry.

Unlike some other CE-marked product categories, the LVD does not require Notified Body involvement - manufacturers are responsible for carrying out the conformity assessment and issuing their own EU Declaration of Conformity.

However, many manufacturers choose to seek independent third-party assessment or testing to strengthen confidence in product safety and demonstrate due diligence.

Through our technical expertise and experience, CCQS provides independent conformity assessment when requested, and offers testing coordination and voluntary verification to demonstrate compliance with LVD requirements.
