Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) CE Certification

With the growing use of electrical and electronic equipment such as lighting systems, communication devices, household appliances, power tools, and IT equipment, the electromagnetic environment around us has become increasingly complex. Electromagnetic interference (EMI) between devices can lead to malfunctions, operational failures, or safety risks.

To address these challenges, the European Commission established the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Directive 2014/30/EU, which ensures that electrical and electronic equipment placed on the EU market operates safely and does not cause electromagnetic disturbance to other equipment.
Manufacturers must carry out relevant testing in accordance with harmonised standards and prepare the required technical documentation to demonstrate conformity before affixing the CE marking.
