The CPR Building Materials Product Regulations 305/2011/EU were put into use in 2016 to ensure the provision of reliable performance information for building products. This new European regulation introduces a new fire safety classification for cables used in construction projects, which can be defined as buildings and other civil engineering projects. In the event of a fire, relevant safety regulations should be followed, including limiting the generation and spread of fire and smoke in buildings.

CPR building materials product flame-retardant cables are power, control, and communication cables, which are general cables with fire resistance requirements in construction projects.
